Join Byron’s Epic Journey – The Simulator Challenge

Fly the world with Byron and show what’s possible when young people back each other’s dreams.

Byron Waller, 15, is setting off on a world-spanning flight to prove that resilience and big dreams can take you anywhere. Now you can join him virtually—no passport required.

We’re inviting kids, teens, schools, pilots, and sim fans everywhere to fly Byron’s route in their own simulators and make a personal commitment to complete the journey.

What Is the Simulator Challenge?

This August, Byron will launch his world flight, visiting dozens of countries in a small Sling TSI aircraft with an experienced instructor. To share the journey, he’s inviting flight sim enthusiasts, students, clubs, and everyday supporters to fly along virtually on their own flight simulators.

You'll get to match his planned route, explore new places, and be part of a global community cheering him on.

How to Take Part

1. Choose Your Simulator
Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, Infinite Flight, or your favourite.

2. Set Your Own Challenge
Decide how many kilometres, countries or stages you’ll fly along with Byron. Make it your mission to finish what you start, just like Byron is.

3. Ask Your Family and Friends to Support You on Byron’s Go Fund Me Page
Invite them to donate to Byron’s official GoFundMe in recognition of your personal challenge.

4. Share Your Journey
Post your flight progress, screenshots, and stories on social media. Tag @teenpilotdownunder to join Byron’s global team of supporters.

5. Help Fuel Byron’s Mission
Every donation to Byron’s GoFundMe helps cover flight costs, safety planning, medical logistics, and sharing his story to inspire others.
